Mohawk College offers different options and beautiful settings to take your filming to another level. Our team will handle all the necessary details to complete your productions. Mohawk College is an excellent choice for any Project where you and your team can work on-site. We will help you find the best spot in the College, adjusting to your budget.

Additional Fees

Security

Mohawk Security must be brought on board for every film production. The fees depend on your team’s size and the movie’s overall scope.

Facilities

Mohawk College reserves the right to charge extra for any necessary services. This includes using Mohawk or contracted workers for:

  • Services for heating, cooling, plumbing, and electricity that are
    customized for specific setups or while filming.
  • Housekeeping and cleaning services.
  • Electrical tie-ins are not permitted and a generator must be used at all times if possible and be responsible for hanging or covering all related cables.

Catering

Requests for outside catering allowances (such as a craft truck) must be made at least ten working days before the day of the shoot.

Parking

Which parking lots/spots will be available to you, and the accompanying prices will be determined by Mohawk’s parking department.

McIntyre Performing Arts Centre

Nestled in the heart of Mohawk College on the Fennell Campus, the McIntyre Performing Arts Centre is the second largest theatre in Hamilton and operates year-round serving the Mohawk College community and is available to the external community.

The 1029-seat McIntyre Performing Arts Centre is the ideal venue for Dance, Theatre, Concerts, Recitals, Corporate Events & Conferences, and any other type of event. The theatre is available to all, including community organizations, individuals, corporate clients, businesses, and commercial promoters.

The McIntyre Performing Arts Centre, and all of Mohawk College is fully accessible. We provide wheelchair seating space, entrance ramps, elevators, signage in Braille formats, accessible parking spots and accessible washrooms

Book a Space

How to book a conference, event, or room?

Please reach out to us to inquire about the availability of your desired date and provide details about your event. The rental process involves the following steps:

  • Date Availability Check. Complete our conference and meeting request form HERE to inquire about the availability of your preferred dates for the event.
  • Rental Estimate. We will respond with a rental estimate based on availability. If necessary, we can adjust the quote to accommodate your specific requirements.
  • Rental Contract. We will generate a contract for your signature upon agreement on the rental estimate. Please note that the date is secured once the warranty has been signed. The contract will outline deposit payments and other relevant details.
  • Event Advance. In the months and weeks leading up to your event, our conference services coordinator will contact you to discuss the finer details of your rental. They will work with you to finalize specific event details and may be present on-site during the event.
  • Event day. We are committed to making your event fantastic and memorable. Our team will be on hand to assist and ensure everything runs smoothly.
  • Settlement. Considering all incurred costs, the final financial payment will be completed after your event concludes.
Do I require insurance for my rental?

Yes. A certificate of insurance must be provided to Mohawk College at least 5 business days prior to the rental date. Details of the requirements are listed in your rental contract.

What if I need to cancel my booking?

All booking cancellations must be received in writing at least 90 days prior to the contracted start date. The advance deposit will be retained as a cancellation fee.

Will there be on-site assistance on the event day?

Yes, the College will assess your event’s requirements and assign staff to assist you. While your group is on-site, you will be treated as guests of the campus.

Equipment

What audio/visual equipment is included in the room rate?

Most meeting rooms are equipped with a computer, LCD projector and screen, microphone, sound system and whiteboard. Additional audio-visual equipment must be arranged in advance.

Is there any cost for Wi-Fi?

When you choose our conference facilities, you can be confident that Wi-Fi connectivity is included at no extra charge.

Catering

What is the process for customizing our catering menu to meet specific preferences, allergies or dietary needs?

At Mohawk College, we recognize that every occasion is different and that people have different tastes in catering. We can accommodate all allergies, but the facilities are not nut-free.
Please contact our staff well in advance to discuss any allergies, tastes or dietary needs. We will work closely with you to create a unique and enjoyable experience for your event.

Is there a deadline for choosing the menu?

Yes, you must select the menu and determine the final number of guests within 14 days to ensure the food and beverages.

Can we provide our catering for our event?

No external food catering is permitted on campus. However, for filming, there is the only exception where we can consider it.

Filming

What must I do if I am interested in filming on campus?

Please complete the Conference and Meeting Requests form to help us better assist you. We will respond with a rental estimate based on availability. If necessary, we can adjust the quote to accommodate your specific requirements.

I want to visit the locations before making a decision. Can I come for a site visit?

Yes, we can schedule a site visit and accompany you while on campus to answer any questions. Please consider that any spaces viewed during a site visit are not confirmed until a signed contract and deposit have been fulfilled.

Can we provide our catering for our event?

Yes, only for filming arrangements is it possible that you can bring your own catering and craft truck. But we need to know these 15 days in advance.

Parking

Where is parking available at the Mohawk College?

There are over 2,000 parking spaces available on Mohawk College’s Fennell Campus. However, depending on the event, we will allocate a parking space.

How much does parking cost?

The cost to park at Mohawk College depends on the time of day with evening and weekend rates being less expensive than during weekdays.
Some events include the cost of parking in the ticket price. Please refer to your event information.

How can I pay for parking?

Parking can be paid online in advance through Mohawk Parking Services (Pay Ticket) or at machines located throughout the parking lots.
Please note that even if your event includes the price of parking, you MUST register online for your free permit (Permit Category-Events).

I received a parking ticket, what do I do?

Parking tickets can be paid or appealed through the Mohawk College Parking Office. Visit Mohawk’s Parking Services (Appeal ticket) for details and steps to take.

Can parking spots be reserved?

Depending on each event, conference services assign a parking lot. Please communicate with the conference services via email at conference.services@mohawkcollege.ca
